Editorial policy

Independence is the product. Here's exactly how we research, what money can and can't buy, and how we fix mistakes.

Research standards

• Every listing is researched by a human who confirms the property exists and is currently bookable.
• Descriptions are written in our own words. We never copy text from property websites, Airbnb listings, or other directories.
• Prices are shown only where verified, with the source noted. Where we couldn't verify, we say “Check current rates” — we never invent prices.
• Site types, amenities, and locations reflect the property's own public materials at research time. Things change; we re-verify on a rolling basis.

Money and independence

• Basic listings are free and granted on merit. No property can pay to be listed.
• Featured placements ($19/month) buy labeled visibility only — position on browse pages and homepage rotation. They never affect inclusion, descriptions, or rankings, and are always labeled “Featured.”
• Booking links may earn us a commission at no cost to you. Commissions never influence which properties we list or how we describe them.
• We don't sell reviews, ratings, or editorial coverage.

Corrections

Found an error — a closed property, a wrong price, a mislabeled site type? Tell us and we'll verify and fix it, usually within days. Substantive corrections are noted on the listing.

Photos

We don't hotlink property photos or present stock imagery as real places. Listing pages use a decorative topographic illustration; real photos live on the property's own booking page, one click away.
